Festival of our Lady of the sea

The festival of Santa Maria Stella Maris is one of the most important in Bosa.

On Sunday morning a procession of boats, decorated with flags, reeds and flowers, accompanies the Madonna along the river. The procession leaves from the church of Bosa Marina and arrives at the Cathedral, where Mass is then celebrated.

In the afternoon people return to their church and then go to the beach, if the sea permits. At the beach, wreathes are lain and people pray for those lost at sea.

On Saturday and Sunday evening folklore events take place as well as spectacular fireworks, which are always admired by tourists! You can also take part in the tasting of typical Sardinian products, offered by stalls for the occasion, along the streets of Bosa Marina.
